Our Love, Hate Relationship with Comic Culture

Pete Rock, Mickey Factz, and Tat Wza are back—reuniting for the first time in a minute to dive deep into the latest from the comic book movie world. The crew breaks down Superman, debating whether James Gunn’s take lives up to the legacy, and why Mr. Terrific might have stolen the show. Then it’s on to Fantastic Four, where all three agree Marvel finally got it right—with Galactus, Shalabal’s Silver Surfer, and a space scene that had fans buzzing. From there, the hosts unpack the MCU’s 80% box office drop, Marvel’s rumored Spider-Man reset (Savage Hulk, Punisher in War Machine armor, and more), and the post-credit teases setting up Doomsday and Secret Wars. It’s equal parts nostalgia, hot takes, and pure comic culture energy—welcome back to the love/hate.Our Love, Hate Relationship with Comic Culture is hosted by Pete Rock, Tat Wza and Mickey Facts, edited by Tom Frank and brought to you by Merrick Studios. The comic guys dive all in on a variety of topic while welcoming to the show Juanyto, aka DJ John, who has worked for HOT 97  (WQHT-FM) for more than a decade as an on-air host and mix DJ. Juanyto is also an Ebro in the Morning Show’s correspondent and a show producer as well as the co-host of the Feed the Meter podcast, covering a wide range of topics such as music, fashion, and sports. The new Marvels trailer is out and Mickey wants to make it very clear he loves woman before ripping it apart and as Pete states best “what is wack is wack and what is dope is dope.” But of course, Marvel attorney (and now doctor) Tat Wza was there to carry the torch of praise and connective tissue. The debate roars on about Ben Affleck, Juanyto explains his thought on the recent Thor movie to which Mickey jumped in to explain exactly why Thor ruined it all. The bottom line, the MCU desperately needs the Fantastic 4 and X-men – nobody cares about anything else. Our Love, Hate Relationship with Comic Culture is hosted by Pete Rock, Tat Wza and Mickey Facts, edited by Tom Frank and brought to you by Merrick Studios. We learned very quickly this week, never ask Tat for tickets to Summer Jam. In his absence Mickey and Pete got deep on their excitement for the return of Nick Fury, and who has the best rogues gallery Spiderman or Batman. In his return, Tat reminds them of the Avengers’ villains, the goat of all villains and who would play Doom in a movie of his own. And did someone just say they didn’t watch The Walking Dead, The Sopranos and The Wire?! How is that even possible? Our Love, Hate Relationship with Comic Culture is hosted by Pete Rock, Tat Wza and Mickey Facts, edited by Tom Frank and brought to you by Merrick Studios. Mickey, Tat and Pete pick up their past conversations about Batman and the Hulk. Why does Mickey dislike Batman Begins? Must every Batman movie start with the origin story? Is Liam Neeson really the best choice for Ra's al Ghul? Why in the world would Hulk ever be wearing a Hawaiian Shirt? And most importantly the debate is on... are all criminals villains and all villains criminals? Our Love, Hate Relationship with Comic Culture is hosted by Pete Rock, Tat Wza and Mickey Facts, edited by Tom Frank and brought to you by Merrick Studios.
